In 2015 when asked, Neil tweeted that he supports Israel's "right to exist," adding saying that Palestine should be a country, ignoring that Israel is an occupational and colonial project that has no inherit right to exist. He also thinks that Palestinians should take up the nationality of their occupiers which further helps erase the Palestinan existence while also ignoring that there are in fact Palestinians who took up the Israeli nationality yet they're treated as second-class citizens, earning less money for the same jobs, getting less degrees of education, and are only allowed to work certain jobs.
In 2023, after the events of October 7th, Neil was asked on Tumblr whether he still stood by his 2015 tweet and he said he did.
