BDS called for Facebook to stop suppressing Palestinian content in 2016 and again in 2020, and they continue to this day to suppress Palestinian content. Zuckerberg also issued a statement on social media condemning the hamas attacks and killing or innocent civilians, while expressing concern for the safety of his staff in Israel. This statement was met with public support by official Twitter account of the Israeli government. He was subsequently questioned as recently as December by US Senator Elizabeth Warren on the reason for this suppression. This after Human Rights Watch released a scathing report documenting apparent suppression of Pro Palestinian content on Facebook since the start of the Israel Hamas conflict.
