Jon Bon Jovi performed in Israel twice once in 2015 and another in 2019 despite the fact that received 5,000 letters from the BDS movement asking him not to attend. He also dedicated a song (We Don’t Run) to Israel and said it was the fight song for Tel Aviv. He has performed at a "Friends of the IDF" gala and raised money as well. He has been quoted as saying: "Yes I heard about (the boycott) but it doesn't interest me. I told my managers to give one simple answer: That I'm coming to Israel and I'm excited to come." and "I chose Israel and I'm coming - no one can cancel my show."
