Condemned Hamas and implied that student groups criticizing the state of Israel are terrorist supporters.

Gay released a statement "condemning Hamas’ 'terrorist atrocities' as 'abhorrent,' and while she did not address the student statement by name, she clarified: 'no student group—not even 30 student groups—speaks for Harvard University or its leadership'" (Forbes).
This statement was in response to a letter signed by Harvard students post October 7. The letter contains zero anti-semitic language; it criticizes the state of Israel (not Jewish people) and the subjugation of Palestinians under apartheid, forced displacement, and ethnic cleansing.
