Doumit has remained silent on the Israeli occupation of Palestine and of its assaults on her country of origin, Lebanon. Like her fellow Modern Warfare and The Boys co-star Elliot Knight, Doumit publicly liked the Instagram video co-posted by the Zionist organization StandWithUs and the IOF veteran-turned actor Tomer Capone where he repeats Zionist talking points to his followers. Despite being of Lebanese descent, she has not condemned nor publicly commented on neither the Israeli bombing of Lebanon and Palestine. She also has kept following the IOF veteran-turned actor Tomer Capone. This is in spite of the fact that Israel has also waged war multiple times against Lebanon—from the 1982 Lebanon War and during her lifetime with the 2006 Lebanon War.
Furthermore, she has been featured as a major role in three Call of Duty video games, a game franchise very heavily criticized for demonizing Arabs and Muslims and for featuring playable Israeli Defense Force soldiers in its multiplayer mode and has had unleashing white phosphorus as an unlockable game feature. The irony lies in that Doumit's recurring character of "Farah Karim" is an Arab freedom fighter whose warring faction throughout the series is erroneously accused of terrorism by the U.S. military and by Russian actors. Her character arc began with in the game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019) where she was fighting a revolutionary guerrilla war against a Russian military occupation in her fictional home country of "Urzikstan," notably against the Russian use of chemical warfare in her country and the orphaning of civilian children there. Nonetheless, despite the political nature of her Arab character, she has remained silent on the politics of the region.
Silence = Complicity:
For those who have passionately spoken out against other instances of genocide and massacres, yet fall silent when it comes to the suffering endured by Palestinians, their silence becomes a glaring indictment of the value placed on Palestinian lives and perpetuates a dangerous narrative that suggests Palestinian suffering is somehow less worthy of outrage, less deserving of empathy and less human than that of others.
By choosing silence in the face of Palestinian suffering, those with influential platforms inadvertently contribute to the erasure of Palestinian voices and experiences. They perpetuate a narrative of invisibility that allows the injustices inflicted upon Palestinians to continue unabated, shielded from the spotlight of global scrutiny.
Their silence sends a chilling message of complicity to the world – one that suggests Palestinian lives are expendable, their struggles inconsequential and their humanity negotiable. It emboldens perpetrators of violence and oppression, granting them impunity under the guise of indifference.
To remain silent in the face of Palestinian suffering is to betray the very essence of activism – the relentless pursuit of justice for all, without exception or equivocation. It’s a betrayal not only of the Palestinian people but of the universal principles of human dignity and equality and instead is a tacit endorsement of the dehumanization and marginalization of an entire population.
True activism demands consistency and integrity, an unwavering commitment to speaking truth to power and standing in solidarity with the marginalized and oppressed, regardless of geography or politics.
