As a survivor of Holocaust, Liliana Segre has been an activist, writer, politician and very influential figure in every aspect of Italy. Even if often targeted by neo-fascists, she has shown repressive and authoritarian ways when people asked her about Palestine or went against her for her zionist views. She in fact denounced many people for this. She has mostly said many times and appeared in tv and every popular Italian journal that "saying it's a genocide is blasphemy", that "she has lived through genocide and this is an exaggeration". She criticized pro-palestinian activists and students as "antisemitic" and "extremists", said they "know nothing about history and just go screaming in their universities", causing a normalization of the repression students received from the government and the neo-fascists/zionist groups, things she of course didn't criticize instead. She said she doesn't "feel like she is responsible for Israel's actions" and for this reason she doesn't feel like speaking up about the horrors. When she did, she said "all babies shouldn't die, no matter the religion".
