Masses of constituents have attended the past three Berkeley city council meetings (throughout November 2023), and he has continued to silence and disregard their pleas for a ceasefire resolution. At one meeting, the entire council moved their meeting into a private conference room to shut out the chamber full of anti-zionists holding signs, flags, and calling on them not to continue business as usual. Once online, he cut off these countless speakers in the middle of their public comment and turned off the microphone, not letting them finish when it was pro-palestine but not for others who were praising him. He, along with every single other councilmember, spent the 6 hour long meeting rolling their eyes, laughing, and scrolling on their phones while residents called in begging for them to introduce a resolution.
